RIVERSIDE, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos women's basketball team dropped a 63-59 decision against Simon Fraser at the California Baptist (CBU) Conference Challenge on Saturday night.
The Cougars fall to 0-2 on the season while the Clan improves to 1-1 overall.

Savannah Camp led the Cougars with 14 points in addition to her five rebounds and three steals. Seniors

Stephanie Custodio collectively pulled down 18 rebounds.
CSUSM trailed 35-32 at the break after SFU shot 46.4 percent from the field to the Cougars' 36.4 percent.
With 2:16 remaining, junior
Baylee Olsen closed the gap to one point after converting an old-fashioned 3-point play to make it 57-56 SFU. Back-to-back buckets by Nicole Vanderhalem clinched the win for the Clan.
For the game, CSUSM shot 15.8 percent (3-of-19) from behind the arc while SFU only made nine attempts and made only one.
SFU's Sophie Swant tallied a game-high 17 points while Vanderhelm and Tayla Jackson each added 13 points.
The Cougars take a 13 day break from competition before taking on Azusa Pacific at UC San Diego's Thanksgiving Classic on Friday, Nov. 24.
