LOS ANGELES – The Cal State San Marcos volleyball team collected a 25-20 opening set victory before falling in three consecutive sets (21-25, 20-25, 23-25) at Cal State L.A. in California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) action on Friday night.
The Cougars fall to 14-10 overall and 11-5 in conference action. The Golden Eagles, who are fighting for a spot in the CCAA tournament, improve to 13-11 on the season and 9-7 in CCAA play.

Micah Hébert led the Cougars with 10 kills. Junior middle blocker
Faith Fortuné chipped in seven kills and five total blocks. Junior outside hitter
Lauren Lee also collected seven kills in the match. Freshman libero
Grecia Cordero-Barr notched 20 digs.
The Cougars once again out-blocked their opponents, finishing with seven to CSULA's three. CSUSM came out strong with a .314 in the opening set but wasn't able to get above .200 in the final three.
Karla Santos tallied double-double with 20 kills and 17 digs for CSULA.
CSUSM wraps up the regular season with a 7 p.m. first serve on Saturday, Nov. 11 at Cal State Dominguez Hills. The Cougars have already punched their ticket to the 2017 CCAA Tournament, hosted by San Francisco State next week.
