SEASIDE, Calif. – For the second time in as many matches, the Cal State San Marcos women's soccer team plays to a double-overtime, 0-0, tie, this time with Cal State Monterey Bay in a California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) match on Thursday afternoon at the Otters Sports Complex.
 
The Otters outshot CSUSM 13-9 but the Cougars won the corner kick battle, 5-4. CSUSM freshman goalkeeper 
Yesenia Betancourt was huge once again between the pipes for the Cougars, recording five saves on 13 total shots faced.
 
CSUSM moves to 7-6-2 overall and 5-4-1 in CCAA play. With the tie, CSUMB is 5-8-4, 2-7-2 CCAA.
 
Senior 
Meghan Randig led the team offensively and finished with four of the team's nine total shots in the match. Sophomore 
Lauren Perry tallied two shots with one on goal. Betancourt collected her third straight clean sheet in net for CSUSM.
 
Madison Aguirre led the Otters with four shots, all four on goal. Miranda Rudolph also chipped in three shots while goalkeeper Alyssa Noh tallied four total saves in the shutout.
 
The Cougars will wrap up their 2017 regular season schedule with a CCAA matchup against Cal State East Bay on Saturday, Oct. 28 at Pioneer Stadium in Hayward. Kick-off is set for 2 p.m.
