CAL STATE DOMINGUEZ HILLS
- The Toros lead the all-time series at 3-2 over the Cougars.
- The teams split the series last season with the Cougars winning a five-set thriller at The Sports Center before falling in four sets in Carson later in the season.
- CSUDH was victorious over Humboldt State in five sets on Saturday after dropping a four-set match to No. 7 California Baptist earlier in the week. The Toros other CCAA victory was a 3-1 result at Stanislaus State to begin CCAA play. Their two losses came against Chico State (1-3) and Cal State L.A. (2-3).
HUMBOLDT STATE
- CSUSM clinched its first win over the Lumberjacks last season, recording a sweep in The Sports Center. Prior to that win, the Cougars had dropped both matches in 2015.
- HSU dropped back-to-back CCAA matches last weekend, falling to Cal State Dominguez Hills (2-3) and Cal State L.A. (1-3)
- HSU's Lauren Reid is averaging 3.06 kills per set, ranking her sixth in the CCAA.
CSUSM BREAKDOWN
- CSUSM came back from being down 1-2 at Cal Poly Pomona on Friday to win a five-set thriller. On Saturday, the Cougars dropped a three-set match at No. 24 Cal State San Bernardino.
- The Cougars continue to be ranked No. 2 in the CCAA statistics behind UC San Diego in digs thanks in large part to freshman libero Grecia Cordero-Barr, the conference digs leader with a 5.15 per set.
- Junior Faith Fortuné drops to No. 2 on the CCAA blocking list this week, averaging 1.27 blocks per set. She is closing in on two CSUSM career block records held by Erin Talafus. She needs 10 block assists and 34 total blocks to take the top spot in those two categories.

- The Cougars went 2-1 last week in CCAA play. CSUSM recorded shutout wins over Cal State Dominguez Hills (1-0) and Cal State San Bernardino (2-0).
- CSUSM scored four goals in the three matches last week. Senior Meghan Randig scored twice, with senior Kayla Anderson and freshman Katie Connor each knocking in the other two goals. Connor recorded the game winner against CSUDH, her first collegiate goal.
- Anderson ranks 3rd in the CCAA with four assists. Sophomore goalkeeper Bailey Cockrill ranks 3rd in the CCAA with five shutouts in 10 matches this season.
- CSUSM is tied for 3rd in the CCAA in goals allowed as a team with seven goals through 11 matches.

- CSUSM is 1-4 all-time against UC San Diego. The Tritons have outscored the Cougars 8-2 in five all-time meetings.
- In the last meeting, CSUSM pulled off a 1-0 upset over then-No. 21 UC San Diego on Sept. 21, 2016 at The Cage. Andrew Stalboerger scored the game-winner in the 60th minute.

LAST OUTING
- The women took first at the Master's Invitational, defeating UCLA's "B" Team and UC Irvine's "A" Team. The men took third behind those two NCAA Division I teams.
- The women ran as a pack with Salena Gallardo leading the way with a ninth place finish and all seven runners who scored for CSUSM finishing between ninth and 21st place.
- On the men's side, junior Steven Terris placed sixth among the NCAA Division I, II and NAIA runners.
USTFCCAA RANKINGS
- The women's team remains at No. 9 in the USTFCCCA Top-25 national rankings.
- The Cougars made their national ranking debut in the preseason poll at No. 22.
