LA JOLLA, Calif. – Cal State San Marcos' women's basketball junior forward
Savannah Camp's 18 points were not enough as the Cougars dropped an 84-60 California Collegiate Athletics Association (CCAA) decision to UC San Diego at RIMAC Arena on Thursday night.
The Cougars fall to 8-8 overall and 5-6 in conference action while the Tritons remain on top of the CCAA standings with a 10-1 record (14-3 overall).

The Cougars put together a 23-point second-quarter performance to cut the Triton's lead to 40-31 going into the break. UCSD opened the second half with a 14-1 run and never looked back.
UCSD tallied a 43.3 percent (29-47) from the field compared to CSUSM's 35.6 percent (21-59). The Cougars made just 12 of their 24 attempts at the charity stripe.
Four Tritons reached double figures in scoring with Beth Mounier leading the way with 18 points. Joleen Yang added 16 points with Cassie MacLeod and Dalayna Sampton each chipping in 15 and 10 points, respectively.
The Cougars head up to Cal State San Bernardino on Saturday, Jan. 21 for a 5:30 p.m. tip-off.
