SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos women's soccer team bounced back from a rough outing to take down Chico State, 1-0, in California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) play on Friday afternoon in The Cage.
Kayla Anderson converted a penalty kick in the 49
th minute following a Chico state hand ball in the box. Anderson, a junior transfer, firmly struck a right footed shot with the inside of her boot into the top-right corner of the net.
CSUSM earns its first CCAA victory of the season and improves to 3-1-3 and 1-1-0 CCAA. Chico State drops its third match in a row and moves to 4-3-1, 0-3-0 CCAA.

Erica Dory did her part to keep the Wildcats off the board with a season-high seven saves. She had back-to-back stops on Erin Woods' header and Korie Bozart's rebound in the 22
nd minute, but none was bigger than her getting fingertips on Lindsay Dias' header and pushing it off the cross bar with five minutes remaining.
The Cougars have a week off before hosting Humboldt State next Friday in CCAA action at 12:30 p.m.
