CSUSM Begins Final Year of NCAA Division II Transition
The Cougars enter their final year of the NCAA Division II transition process in 2016. Now NCAA DII Provisional Members, CSUSM will play a NCAA DII and California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) schedule, but will still not be eligible for postseason play until 2017.

rd minute forced extra time on the way to a 1-1 draw in the Cougars' 2015 home opener.
CUI Breakdown: The Eagles were picked to finish third in the PacWest Preseason Coaches' poll after going 11-3-3 overall in its first season of PacWest play in 2015. The Eagles are also in the final year of the NCAA DII transition process.

Last meeting vs. PLNU: L, 0-1 (Sept. 15, 2015); The Sea Lions scored the game's only goal in the 76
th minute to move CSUSM to 0-2-2 on the young season.
PLNU Breakdown: The Sea Lions were picked to finish second in the PacWest Preseason Coaches' poll after taking home the 2015 PacWest title with an 11-2-0 mark in league play. PLNU returns 16 letterwinners and eight starters.
CCAA Preseason Poll
CSUSM was picked 11
th in a preseason poll of CCAA coaches. The Cougars received 39 points in the poll and finished ahead of Cal State East Bay and Cal State Dominguez Hills.
The Renneisen File
Head coach
Bobby Renneisen enters his third year in charge of the women's program and 11
th overall at CSUSM. Between 2006-13, Renneisen was an assistant/associate head coach for both the men's and women's teams. As the women's head coach, Renneisen is 14-12-10 (.528) over two seasons.
