CHICO, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos volleyball team dropped three straight sets (14-25, 14-25, 17-25) at California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) North Division leader Chico State on Saturday night.
The Cougars fall to 15-10 overall and 8-8 in conference action while the Wildcats improve to 19-6, 13-3 CCAA play.
Sophomore
Ashley Pedersen registered a season-best 10 kills to lead the Cougars. Sophomore
Lauren Lee and freshman
Madi Anderson each chipped in five kills. Freshman
Aleese Wheaton served up three aces and tallied 10 digs.
The Wildcats hit .327 with 46 kills compared to CSUSM's .100 clip and 28 kills. Camryn Rocha led Chico's offense with .643 attack percentage with 10 kills on 14 attempts and only one error.
CSUSM wraps up its 2016 season next Saturday, hosting UC San Diego at 1 p.m. Prior to the match, the Cougars will honor their three seniors,
Brooke Butler,
Jordan McFarland and
Morgan Willis, for their service to the team in a special Senior Day ceremony.
