TURLOCK, Calif. – Four Cougars registered double-digits in kills to lead the Cal State San Marcos volleyball team to a four-set victory (25-22, 25-17, 11-25, 25-23) at Stanislaus State in California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) action on Friday night.
Freshman
Madi Anderson finished with 12 kills, sophomore
Lauren Lee collected 11 and senior
Brooke Butler and freshman
Maddy Newcombe each added 10 kills.
With the win, the Cougars improve to 15-9 overall and 8-7 in conference action. The Warriors fall to 10-14 and 7-8 in CCAA play.
Junior
Samantha Flores set a new CSUSM four-set record with 32 digs against the Warriors. In addition to her 10 kills, Butler notched 11 digs for her seventh double-double of the season. Freshman
Aleese Wheaton dished out 37 assists while collecting 14 digs.
CSUSM out-blocked Stan State 9-4 with sophomore
Faith Fortune leading the way with six block assists.
Blair Ehrlich led the Warriors with 25 kills.
The Cougars conclude their final road trip of 2016 on Saturday, Nov. 5 at Chico State. First serve is slated for 7 p.m.
