CSUSM Heads to Cal State Monterey Bay, SFSU on First CCAA Road Trip


SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos women's soccer team heads out on its first conference road trip of the season to take on Cal State Monterey Bay and San Francisco State in California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) play this week.

Cougar Notes
· CSUSM went 0-1-1 last week in CCAA play in The Cage.
· The Cougars surrendered a goal with six seconds remaining on its way to a 1-1 draw vs. Humboldt State on Sept. 30.
· CSUSM fell to Sonoma State, 1-0, on Oct. 2 despite out-shooting the Seawolves 9-5
· The Cougars are tied for eighth in the CCAA standings with four points, 11 points behind Cal State L.A.

CSUSM vs. Monterey Bay
· CSUSM is 1-0-0 all-time vs. CSUMB
· Meghan Randig's goal in the 15th minute lifted the Cougars to a 1-0 win over the Otters in their only other meeting on Oct. 11, 2015.
· The Otters have lost four straight CCAA matches since Sept. 23, all on the road. They gave up two goals in each of those losses.
· CSUMB has allowed the second-most goals (9) in CCAA play.  

CSUSM vs. SFSU
· CSUSM is 1-0-1 all-time vs. SFSU.
· The Cougars and Gators battled to a 1-1 tie on Oct. 9, 2015. Randig scored.
· The Gators are winless over their last four matches, going 0-2-2 in the process.
· SFSU dropped two 1-0 matches last weekend in CCAA play to Cal State Dominguez Hills and Cal State L.A.

The Renneisen File
Head coach Bobby Renneisen enters his third year in charge of the women's program and 11th overall at CSUSM. Between 2006-13, Renneisen was an assistant/associate head coach for both the men's and women's teams. As the women's head coach, Renneisen is 17-14-14 (.533) during his three years.
