SAN MARCOS, Calif. – Despite close results in the opening and third set, the Cal State San Marcos volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to nationally ranked Cal State San Bernardino on Friday night at The Sports Center.
With the result, the Cougars fall to 13-9 overall and 6-7 in California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) play. The 18th-ranked Coyotes improve to 16-4 overall and 10-2 in conference action.
Senior
Brooke Butler tallied 11 kills and nine digs in the contest. Sophomore
Haley Montgomery had a team-best 11 digs. Freshman
Maddy Newcombe registered nine kills on 25 attempts and made two errors for a .280 clip.
CSUSB's Lauren Nicholson finished with 19 kills and a .348 attack percentage.
The Cougars travel to Cal Poly Pomona on Saturday, Oct. 29 for a 7 p.m. match.
