Box Score POMONA, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos volleyball team swept Cal Poly Pomona, 3-0, on Saturday night in California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) play at Kellogg Gym. Set scores were 25-15, 25-19, 25-19.
CSUSM improves to 14-9 overall and 7-7 in CCAA action. CPP drops to 5-16, 1-11 in CCAA play.
The Cougars remain in fourth place in the CCAA South standings.
Freshman Maddie Newcombe led the Cougars with nine kills on the night.
Aleese Wheaton contributed 30 assists and was 4-of-6 (.667) attacking from the setter position. She also added four service aces.
Lauren Lee tallied six kills.
CSUSM registered eight blocks on the night and limited the Broncos to .100 hitting.
The Cougars continue CCAA play next weekend as they head to Stanislaus State and Chico State, Nov. 4 and 5, respectively.
CSUSM's final home match will take place Nov. 12 at 1 p.m. against UC San Diego.
