POMONA, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos men's soccer team fell 4-0 to No. 18 Cal Poly Pomona in California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) play on Thursday afternoon at Kellogg Field.
The Cougars surrendered three goals in a span of two minutes and 18 seconds during the first half.
Despite the loss, CSUSM remains 2-1 this year against ranked teams after previous victories over UC San Diego and Cal State L.A.
CSUSM drops to 5-5-4 overall and 4-3-4 in conference play. The Cougars have one match remaining on Saturday afternoon at Cal State San Bernardino.
CSUSB currently holds the final CCAA tournament spot by one point over seventh-place Cal State Dominguez Hills.
