SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos volleyball team clinched its fifth consecutive home match victory with a sweep (25-20, 25-14, 26-24) over Humboldt State on Saturday afternoon at The Sports Center.
The Cougars improved a 13-8 overall and 6-6 in California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) play while HSU dropped to 9-9, 4-7 CCAA.

Andrea Leonard. "We continue to focus on a balanced offense, disciplined defense and an aggressive approach to the intangibles. We measure ourselves by our work within the system and executing at each position. Today was a great example of our teamwork, focus, execution and depth of this team. The momentum we are creating is exciting."
Sophomore
Lauren Lee just missed out on a double-double, finishing with nine kills and 14 digs. Sophomore
Faith Fortune recorded seven blocks and five kills. Senior
Brooke Butler also tallied nine kills in addition to three aces. Freshman
Aleese Wheaton dished out 29 assists and a team-high 16 digs. Freshman
Maddy Newcombe registered eight kills and three aces.
The Cougars dominated in every category including a 10-3 advantage in aces.
HSU's Symone Hayden finished with a match-high 13 kills.
CSUSM hosts No. 18 Cal State San Bernardino next Friday, Oct. 28 at 7 p.m.
