HAYWARD, Calif. – Meghan Randig's goal in the 77
th minute lifted the Cal State San Marcos women's soccer team to a 1-0 win over Cal State East Bay in California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) play on Friday evening at Pioneer Stadium.
The victory is CSUSM's third win in a row and marks the first time CSUSM has won three consecutive CCAA matches. In addition, it is their first three-match winning streak since 2014.
The Cougars, who only won a total of three CCAA matches in 2015, improved to 5-3-1 in CCAA play and jumped into a tie for fourth place with three conference matches remaining. If CSUSM was eligible for the conference tournament, it would be holding one of the competition's six spots. CSUSM is 7-3-4 overall.
For Randig, it was her third goal of the season and first since Sept. 30.
CSUEB drops to 3-9-3 and 2-7-0 in CCAA action.
The Cougars move on to play Stanislaus State on Sunday afternoon.
