HAYWARD, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos volleyball team dropped a three-set decision at Cal State East Bay in California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) play on Saturday night. Final scores were 25-14, 25-17 and 26-24.
The Cougars fall to 9-5 overall and 2-3 in conference action while the Pioneers improve to 6-8, 2-4 CCAA.
Junior
Ashley Kaylor led CSUSM's offense with nine kills and freshman
Maddy Newcombe added eight kills. Sophomores
Courtney Hulla and
Faith Fortune tallied four and three blocks, respectively. Freshman
Aleese Wheaton dished out 24 assists.
CSUEB's Kiki Leuteneker had a match-high 15 kills and Deja Thompson contributed 12 kills.
The Cougars return to The Sports Center on Friday, Oct. 7 when they host Sonoma State at 7 p.m.
