Just Droppin' In to See What Condition My Condition Was In
The Cougars dropped both ends of their CCAA matchups last week at The Cougar Den. CSUSM fell in the second OT, 1-0, to Stanislaus State via a golden goal in the 103rd minute on Friday before being taken down 1-0 by Cal State East Bay. The pair of losses drops the Cougars to 1-2-1 in conference play and into a tie for 10th in the conference standings with Cal State L.A.

CCAA Situation
Sonoma State and Cal State San Bernardino sit atop the conference standings with 10 points and 3-0-1 conference records. San Francisco State is third with a 2-0-1 record.

CSULA Preview
All-time vs. CSULA: 1-1-0

Last Meeting: W, 1-0 (Aug. 29, 2008); Lauryn Maes' goal in the 74th minute lifted the Cougars to their second victory of the 2008 season at Mangrum Soccer Field. Kaycee Gunion made three saves in goal.

CSULA Breakdown: The preseason pick to win the CCAA, CSULA has looked little the part thus far this season. The Golden Eagles were winless over their first seven matches and only earned their first victory of the season at Cal Poly Pomona on Sunday. CSULA ranks last in the CCAA with just three goals scored and is tied for 10th in the conference standings along with CSUSM.

CSUDH Preview
All-time vs. CSUDH: 1-3

Last Meeting: W, 2-0 (Sept. 6, 2014); The Cougars earned their first victory of the 2014 season with a shutout of CSUDH in Carson. It was the first win over a CCAA opponent for CSUSM women's soccer since 2008. Amy Young started the scoring in the 12th minute before Sarah Campbell scored the first goal of her Cougar career in the 58th minute. Brianne Searl and Paulina Good had assists.

CSUDH Breakdown: CSUDH enters the weekend as one of two winless teams in CCAA competition and sits at the bottom of the conference standings. The Toros have dropped six consecutive matches dating back to Sept. 11 since their only win over Sierra Nevada College on Sept. 6.

The Bobby Renneisen File
CSUSM head coach Bobby Renneisen, now in his second season as the man in charge, holds an 12-6-8 (.615) career coaching record. Renneisen spent eight years from 2006-2013 as an assistant on then-head coach Ron Pulvers' coaching staff at CSUSM.

New Conference
Cal State San Marcos is a part of the 13-team California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA), made up of 12 CSU institutions and UC San Diego. The CCAA is one of the premier NCAA Division II leagues in the nation. Its teams have won more national championships (153) than any other conference.

New Territory
After nine seasons of competition in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), the Cougars enter their first season of NCAA Division II competition in 2015. CSUSM is currently in the second year of a three-year transition to full NCAA Division II membership. As a part of the transition, the Cougars will be ineligible for postseason play in 2015 and 2016.
