Jim Saia was named the A.I.I. Coach of the Year as the team awaits its semifinal opponent in the A.I.I. Division I Conference Championship at West Virginia Tech.

All-A.I.I. HonoreesThe Cougars had four players and their coach honored for their stellar 2014-15 campaign. Senior point guard
Blake Nash took home A.I.I. Player of the Year and was a first-team selection after leading the Cougars in scoring (17.0) and assists (6.1).
Julian Camper and
Akachi Okugo were All-A.I.I. Second Team selections and
Dayton Boddie took home an honorable mention accolade. It is the second consecutive season in which Saia has been named the conference's Coach of the Year.
A.I.I. Conference ChampionshipCSUSM is the defending A.I.I. champion and is seeded No. 1 for the A.I.I. Championship for the third consecutive season. The Cougars will face the winner of Thursday's No. 4 Morris (S.C.)-No. 5 Allen (S.C.) matchup on Friday in the tournament semifinals. West Virginia Tech (22-8) is seeded No. 2, Washington Adventist (12-17) is No. 3 and Fisk (3-26) is No. 6.
2014 A.I.I. Championship RecapCSUSM won its first-ever A.I.I. title last season with a 112-95 win over host Life (Ga.) on Mar. 9, 2014.
Bobby Macias scored 25 on 8-of-13 shooting,
De'End Parker and
Jason Johnson added 24 apiece, and
Malcolm Lemmons added 19 points and 10 boards. Parker was named the A.I.I. Tournament's Most Outstanding Player and Johnson joined him on the all-tournament squad.
NotesCSUSM is 3-2 all-time at the A.I.I. Conference Championship … The Cougars have had four players named all-conference for three consecutive seasons … The Cougars have never played Morris or Allen, but they beat WVU Tech 77-70 in the 2014 semifinals … CSUSM moved up a spot to No. 3 in this week's national poll after tying for No. 4 the previous two weeks …
