OCEANSIDE, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos women's basketball team fell to Point Loma, 50-39, on Wednesday night at MiraCosta College.
The Cougars drop to 2-4 overall, while PLNU improves to 6-3.
Sophomore
Savannah Camp notched her second consecutive double-double with a team-leading 19 points and 11 rebounds. Junior
Ashley Jenkins added eight points, five rebounds and two steals.
Down 29-11 at halftime, the Cougars closed out the third quarter on a 9-0 run with 3-pointers by the trio of Camp, Jenkins and junior
Paige Barber to make it 46-24.
The Cougars carried that momentum into the final quarter, outscoring the Sea Lions 15-4, but the clock ran out as the Sea Lions secured the victory at 50-39.
Rova Rustamzada tallied 19 points, 11 rebounds and five steals for PLNU.
CSUSM resumes its CCAA schedule at Chico State on Saturday, Dec. 12. Tip-off is slated for 5:30 p.m.
