SAN FRANCISCO – The Cal State San Marcos volleyball team fell in three sets (20-25, 13-25, 21-25) to San Francisco State in its 2015 season finale in California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) play at The Swamp.
The Cougars conclude their inaugural season of competition in the NCAA Division II with a 6-23 overall record and 3-17 in CCAA action.
With a 12-8 conference record, SF State will compete in the first-ever CCAA Women's Volleyball Tournament Nov. 19-21 at UC San Diego.
Senior
Jordan Banich led CSUSM with nine kills in addition to her seven digs and three block assists. Senior
Taylor DeGraaf chipped in seven kills and 10 digs.
SF State's Jaclyn Clark had a match-high 18 kills and .368 clip.
CSUSM says goodbye to DeGraaf and Banich while returning 13 players including seven freshmen. Banich was a member of the 2014 Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I) championship team. DeGraaf, a member of the first CSUSM volleyball squad, leaves with three A.I.I. championship titles, three All-American honors and two A.I.I. Player of the Year accolades.
