CARSON, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos volleyball team dropped a four-set decision at Cal State Dominguez Hills in California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) action on Friday night at the Torodome. Final scores were 25-17, 25-18, 19-25 and 25-23.

Jordan Banich was the lone Cougar to reach double-digits in kills with 13 while the Toros were able to spread out the offense with Claire Autry (15), Morelia Castro (14) and Vanessa Phyakeo (12) each reaching the feat.
The Cougars fall to 4-14 overall and 1-9 in CCAA play. CSUDH improves to 6-12, 4-6 CCAA.
Down two sets and trailing 0-2 in the third, the Cougars took control with a 7-1 run. CSUDH fought back to even the set at 8-8, but CSUSM once again pulled away when Banich's ace made it 15-9 and forced the Toros to use their final timeout of the set. The Cougars cruised to a 25-19 victory.
Both teams put up a strong battle in the fourth set that resulted in 12 ties and seven lead changes, but the Toros came out on top at 25-23.
The Cougars conclude their five-match road trip on Saturday night at Cal State L.A. The start time for the match has been moved from 7 p.m. to 6 p.m.
