SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos women's soccer team wraps up the 2015 season with a non-conference tilt at UC San Diego on Friday night in La Jolla. Even though the squads are both part of the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA), it will not count as a conference match.

CSUSM Ends Conference PlayCSUSM ended its first season of CCAA play last week on the road, falling 2-0 to UC San Diego and 1-0 to Chico State. The Cougars end the year with a 3-6-3 CCAA record.
Erica Dory made her first appearances of the season in goal for CSUSM, tallying four saves vs. UCSD last Wednesday. In her first start on Sunday at Chico, Dory made three saves. CSUSM currently sits in ninth place in the CCAA standings with 12 points.

Last meeting vs. UCSD: L, 0-2 (Oct. 21, 2015); In the teams' first meeting since 2008 last week in La Jolla, the Tritons scored twice in the first half en route to a 2-0 victory.
UCSD Breakdown: The Tritons are 4-1 over their last five matches and have outscored their opponents in those contests, 8-1. They are in second place in the CCAA and have guaranteed a berth in the CCAA Conference Tournament.

New ConferenceCal State San Marcos is a part of the 13-team
California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA), made up of 12 CSU institutions and UC San Diego. The CCAA is one of the premier NCAA Division II leagues in the nation. Its teams have won more national championships (153) than any other conference.
New TerritoryAfter nine seasons of competition in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), the Cougars enter their first season of NCAA Division II competition in 2015. CSUSM is currently in the second year of a three-year transition to full NCAA Division II membership. As a part of the transition, the Cougars will be ineligible for postseason play in 2015 and 2016.
