CHICO, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos women's soccer team surrendered the game's only score in the 89^th minute of its 1-0 loss to Chico State in the Cougars' California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) regular season finale on Sunday at University Soccer Field.

Emily Shleppey's free kick from the top of the box deflected off a CSUSM defender and snuck in the goal to hand the Wildcats the lead at the 88:12 mark of the second half.

The loss drops the Cougars to 3-8-5 overall and they end their first season of CCAA play with a 3-6-3 conference mark. Chico State improves to 10-4-2, 6-3-0 CCAA.

CSUC outshot CSUSM 15-6 and forced three saves from Cougar goalkeeper Erica Dory, who was making her first start this season.

The Cougars have one match remaining in 2015, a non-conference tilt vs. UC San Diego in La Jolla this Friday, Oct. 30 at 7 p.m.
