CSUSM Upended by CSULA in First CCAA Road Contest

LOS ANGELES – The Cal State San Marcos women's soccer team dropped its first-ever California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) road match, 2-0, at Cal State L.A. on Friday night at Jesse Owens Track.

Katelyn Fregosi and Victoria Arredondo scored in the 44th and 69th minute, respectively, as the Golden Eagles improved to 2-5-2 overall and 2-2-1 in CCAA play.

The Cougars drop to 1-5-3 overall and 1-3-1 in CCAA play.

CSUSM outshot CSULA, 13-10, and the Cougars made Golden Eagle goalkeeper Adriana Maldonado make eight saves on the evening.

Sidney Hernandez placed all three of her shots on-frame.

CSUSM will seek to stop its three-match losing streak on Sunday at 2 p.m. against Cal State Dominguez Hills.
