Track The Cougars
There are now more ways than ever to stay in tune with your favorite CSUSM teams. Email updates, text messages and a weekly department-wide email digest are just a couple ways to stay in the know. For more info, click HERE.

In The Table
The Cougars sit in seventh place in the conference standings with 13 points and a 4-5-1 CCAA record. CSUSM earned three points over the weekend by defeating Humboldt State, 3-2, on Sunday. With a pair of victories this week against UC San Diego and Chico State, the Cougars could climb as high as a tie for second place in the table. However, several teams have one or two games in-hand on the Cougars.

Notes
All four of CSUSM's victories in CCAA play have come when the Cougars have scored three goals … Sunday's win over HSU was CSUSM's first road CCAA victory … Eddie Guerra assisted on two of the goals against HSU … Leading goal scorer Louie Farfan tallied his fifth of the season vs. HSU, his first goal since Sept. 25 … Andrew Stalboerger scored his second goal of the year in Friday's 3-1 loss Sonoma State … Stalboerger is one of three Cougar players, including Jacob Cintas and Yuki Hata, who have started all 14 matches this season.

UC San Diego Preview
All-time vs. UCSD: 1-3

Last meeting vs. UCSD: L, 0-4 (Sept. 14, 2014); The Tritons handed the Cougars a handy 4-0 defeat in La Jolla last season, after the Cougars had started the year with a 4-1 record. UCSD scored twice late in the first half and then twice early in the second half to take control of the contest.

UCSD Breakdown: Wednesday's match for UCSD will be critical for the Tritons in their quest to make the CCAA Tournament. The Tritons currently sit in fifth place with 15 points, two ahead of sixth-place Sonoma State and three ahead of eighth-place Cal State Monterey Bay. SSU has two games in-hand on the Tritons and CSUMB has one game in-hand. The Tritons are 2-1-2 over their last three games and are coming off a 3-0 loss at the hands of SSU.

Chico State Preview
All-time vs. CSUC: Sunday will be the first-ever meeting between the squads.

CSUC Breakdown: CSUC enters the week in ninth place with 10 points and a 3-4-1 mark in the CCAA standings, but has played two fewer games than UC San Diego. CSUC has gone 1-2-1 over its last four CCA matches, all on the road, and are still very much in the hunt for a CCAA Tournament berth.

The Pulvers File
Head coach Ron Pulvers is in his 20th season as a men's collegiate head coach and 10th in charge of CSUSM. Pulvers, who started the CSUSM program from the ground up in 2006, holds a 221-127-29 (.625) career coaching record, including a 95-56-15 (.617) mark at CSUSM.

New Territory
After nine seasons of competition in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), the Cougars enter their first season of NCAA Division II competition in 2015. CSUSM is currently in the second year of a three-year transition to full NCAA Division II membership. As a part of the transition, the Cougars will be ineligible for postseason play in 2015 and 2016.

New Conference
Cal State San Marcos is in its first season competing in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA). The CCAA is made up of 12 CSU institutions and UC San Diego. The CCAA is one of the premier NCAA Division II leagues in the nation. Its teams have won more national championships (153) than any other conference. The Cougars came in tied for 12th in the 2015 CCAA Preseason Coaches Poll released Aug. 26.
