SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos volleyball team fell in three sets to Chico State in California Collegiate Athletics Association (CCAA) play on Saturday afternoon at Hunter Gym. Final scores were 25-23, 25-21 and 25-21.
Three Wildcats tallied double-digits in kills that allowed Chico State to use a balanced offense attack to take the match.
The Cougar fall to 5-16 overall and 2-11 in CCAA action. Chico State improves to 16-6, 8-4 CCAA.
Senior
Jordan Banich continued her outstanding play, racking up 15 kills on 34 attempts and making just one error for a .412 clip. Freshman
Sam Huang also hit .412 while collecting a career-best nine kills. Junior
Brooke Butler and sophomore
Ashley Kaylor each tallied 12 digs in the match. Junior
Taylor Harris dished out 40 assists on top of her nine digs, finishing one dig shy of her ninth double-double of the season.
Shelby Franks led the Wildcat offense with 14 kills while Olivia Mediano and Shannon Boling added 13 and 10 kills respectively.
The Cougars are back on the court on Tuesday, Oct. 20, hosting Cal State Dominguez Hills at 7 p.m.
