SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos women's soccer team hits the road to face Sonoma State and Humboldt State in California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) play on Friday and Sunday, respectively.

The Cougars went 1-0-1 last weekend at The Cougar Den, tying San Francisco State 1-1 before taking down Cal State Monterey Bay, 1-0. CSUSM has captured seven points over its last three contests (2-0-1) and has jumped into sixth place in the conference table. Meghan Randig became CSUSM's first-ever CCAA Women's Soccer Player of the Week after scoring both the Cougars' goals over the weekend.

Sonoma State Preview
All-time vs. SSU: Friday will be the first meeting between the teams.

SSU Breakdown: The Seawolves have won six consecutive matches and sit atop the conference standings with 16 points and a 6-0-1 CCAA mark. SSU ranks fourth in NCAA Division II in goals against average (.343) and save percentage (.727). They've recorded four consecutive shutout victories.

Humboldt State Preview
All-time vs. HSU: Sunday will be the first clash between the squads.

HSU Breakdown: Humboldt State is 2-0-1 over its last three matches since losing back-to-back matches to Sonoma State and Chico State. Goalkeeper Catilin Plese's 77 saves are most in the conference. Bridget Daley's five goals are a team-high.

The Bobby Renneisen File
CSUSM head coach Bobby Renneisen, now in his second season as the man in charge, holds a 13-6-9 (.625) career coaching record. Renneisen spent eight years from 2006-2013 as an assistant on then-head coach Ron Pulvers' coaching staff at CSUSM.

New Conference
Cal State San Marcos is a part of the 13-team California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA), made up of 12 CSU institutions and UC San Diego. The CCAA is one of the premier NCAA Division II leagues in the nation. Its teams have won more national championships (153) than any other conference.

New Territory
After nine seasons of competition in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), the Cougars enter their first season of NCAA Division II competition in 2015. CSUSM is currently in the second year of a three-year transition to full NCAA Division II membership. As a part of the transition, the Cougars will be ineligible for postseason play in 2015 and 2016.
