SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos men's soccer team's streak of beating ranked squads ended Sunday afternoon at the CSUSM Multipurpose Field, as No. 23 Rocky Mountain (Mont.) topped CSUSM, 3-2.

The Cougars entered the match coming off wins against No. 10 Concordia (Calif.) and No. 24 Biola – the only time in program history in which CSUSM has defeated two consecutive ranked opponents. Adding a third to that list proved to be untenable.

Sullivan Tobin's goal cut CSUSM's deficit to 2-1 in the 51^st minute, and CSUSM did well to carry the play throughout much of the second half. However, Zach Wall's goal against the run of play in the 85^th took the wind out of CSUSM's sails.

Evan Myers scored less than three minutes from full time, but it proved to be a bit too little, too late.

The Cougars drop to 6-3 overall with the loss, while RMC improves to 4-6.
