Critical Weekend Ahead for No. 15 CSUSM

SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The No. 15 Cal State San Marcos women's soccer team has fallen in back-to-back matches against NAIA Top 25 opponents, and is looking to rebound this weekend against Biola and Rocky Mountain (Mont.).

Home Games Moved to Multipurpose Field
All remaining home matches featuring the Cal State San Marcos soccer teams will be played on the CSUSM Multipurpose Field. The change was made due to concerns with the playability of Mangrum Soccer Field. The Multipurpose Field is located directly next to Lot Z. Lot Z will continue to have free parking for all CSUSM home games.

Cougar Doubleheaders
CSUSM soccer is hosting a pair of doubleheaders this weekend with Biola and Rocky Mountain. The women will lead each doubleheader, with the men's games starting approximately 20 minutes after the completion of the women's games. Saturday's doubleheader starts at 1 p.m. Sunday's doubleheader starts at 2 p.m.

Biola Preview
All-time vs. Biola: 1-4-2
Last time out: L, 0-1 (Sept. 19, 2013)
CSUSM will meet its third consecutive opponent from the Golden State Athletic Conference (GSAC) when Biola comes to town Saturday. The Eagles are currently a perfect 6-0 on the year and have yet to surrender more than a single goal in any match thus far. Amanda Lillicrop is off to a blistering pace with four goals and five assists for a total of 13 points. Taylor Venegas also has four goals for BU. The Eagles did not receive any votes in the preseason coaches' poll, but will likely be included in the Sept. 23 edition.

RMC Preview
All-time vs. RMC: 1-0-1
Last time out: W, 1-0 (Sept. 27, 2013)
RMC will hit San Marcos on its two-day journey out to California, a day after facing Vanguard in Costa Mesa. The Cougars and Battlin' Bears are meeting for the third time in the past two seasons. Last season in Las Vegas, the Cougars drew with then-No. 24 Rocky Mountain, 0-0. Two weeks later, on Sept. 27, the Cougars topped the Battlin' Bears 1-0 on a goal from Jacqueline Lara. The Bears have won their last three games by a combined score of 9-1.

Schedule Outlook
After only hosting three home matches in 2013, the Cougars will be playing on their friendly confines 11 times in 2014. After a home match on Sept. 28 against Embry-Riddle (Ariz.) and a pair on the road Oct. 4-5, CSUSM will host their final five games at home versus Marymount (Calif.) (Oct. 16, 1 p.m.), Bethesda (Oct. 18, 1p.m.), San Diego Christian (Oct. 24, 3 p.m.), Antelope Valley (Oct. 25, 12 p.m.) and Point Loma (Nov. 4, 1 p.m.).
