On The Front Foot
After struggling to find the net in a 0-0 tie in their season opener on Aug. 24 versus Eastern Oregon, the Cougars have bounced back with consecutive victories over Cal State Dominguez Hills and Southern Oregon. Amy Young scored in each of the victories and the Cougars beat a CCAA team – CSUDH – for the first time since 2008. Sarah Campbell scored the first goal of her Cougar career in the win over the Toros.

The Master's College Preview
All-time vs. TMC: 4-3-1
Last time out: W, 1-0 (Nov. 23, 2013)
CSUSM and TMC are familiar foes. After falling to TMC during the 2013 regular season, 2-0, the Cougars got their revenge with a 1-0 victory in the NAIA Opening Round which sent CSUSM to the NAIA quarterfinals for the first time since 2008. So far in 2014, TMC has proved itself to be a tough opponent, having won four of its last five games. The Mustangs' only losses on the year were to No. 1 Concordia (Ore.) and NAIA stronghold MidAmerica Nazarene (Kan.). TMC has scored five goals in each of its last two wins.

Cougar Doubleheader
Following the women's game, the CSUSM men's soccer team will face The Master's College at 5 p.m. on Mangrum Soccer Field.

Schedule Outlook
After only hosting three home matches in 2013, the Cougars will be playing on their friendly confines 11 times in 2014. On the weekend of Sept. 20-21, the Cougars host Biola and Rocky Mountain (Mont.) on consecutive days. CSUSM will host their final five games at home versus Marymount (Calif.) (Oct. 16, 1 p.m.), Bethesda (Oct. 18, 1p.m.), San Diego Christian (Oct. 24, 3 p.m.), Antelope Valley (Oct. 25, 12 p.m.) and Point Loma (Nov. 4, 1 p.m.).
