LA MIRADA, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos volleyball team won a five-set road thriller Thursday night against Montana Tech in their second match of Biola's Summer Slam. Final scores were 20-25, 25-12, 26-24, 22-25 and 15-10.
With the win, CSUSM improves to 2-3 on the season while Montana Tech falls to 1-1.

Jordan Banich notched a season-high 22 kills while recording her fourth double-double in five matches. Seniors

Kelli McLin each tallied nine kills. Four Cougars nabbed double-digits in digs with freshman libero

The fifth set was a true battle until CSUSM pulled away beginning with a ace by Foster. Kills by Hubbard and McLin clinched the match.
A 5-0 run behind the serving of McLin gave the Cougars a 26-24 third set victory. Sophomore
Markisha Henderson-Diaz scored the final two points on a solo block and then a kill.
In the second set, CSUSM took a 17-8 lead after an 11-4 run as the Cougars cruised to 25-12 victory behind a .333 attack percentage. The Diggers were held to only four kills while hitting .031.
Earlier in the day, the Cougars dropped a hard-fought four-set match to Southern Oregon. The scores were 16-25, 25-23, 21-25 and 17-25. Hubbard recorded a team-high 12 kills and freshman libero

CSUSM returns to the court on Friday at 10 a.m. to take on Bellevue before a match-up against No. 18 College of Idaho at 2 p.m.
