FRESNO, Calif. – Malcolm Lemmons matched a school-record with 35 points and the No. 1 Cal State San Marcos men's basketball team led from start to finish in a 100-84 victory over Fresno Pacific on Thursday night at FPU Events Center.
Lemmons scored 21 in the first half and finished the game 12-of-17 from the floor and 4-of-6 from 3-point range. He matched Tim Steed's total  against Mountain State on Nov. 12, 2011.

CSUSM shot 60.5 percent in the first half and jumped out to a 58-24 halftime advantage. FPU (10-13) outscored CSUSM in the second half, 60-42, but the Cougars were in protection mode.
Jason Johnson had 18 points, while
De'End Parker recorded 15. Big man
Adam Eakles dished out eight assists and corralled eight rebounds, both team-highs.
The Cougars improve to 27-1 overall with the win and have now won 18 games in a row. Their final regular season game is Thursday, Feb. 27 at No. 9 Vanguard. The Lions have won 15 of 17 games since falling at CSUSM, 80-64, on Nov. 23.
Head coach
Jim Saia faced FPU for the third time since becoming the Cougars' head coach in 2010-11. Saia spent three seasons leading the Sunbirds, putting together a 70-29 overall record from 2007 to 2010.
FPU played Thursday's contest as an exhibition and the loss will not count against the Sunbirds' record. CSUSM played it as an official game.
