Kylie Coppi added five points.
Maya Hood paced the Toreros with 27 points and nine rebounds while Sophia Ederaine also reached double-digits with 21 points.
As a team, the Cougars shot 29.5% from the field. USD shot 43.6% and won the battle of the boards, 52-40.
Both teams only connected on one three-pointer while each squad tallied five blocked shots.
CSUSM (1-2) resumes its regular season play on Friday, Nov. 21 when the Cougars open the Dixie State Thanksgiving Classic against Alaska Fairbanks in St. George, Utah.
