Box Score Box score will be posted when received.LAS VEGAS – The No. 3 Cal State San Marcos men's basketball team ran its unbeaten record to 4-0 following an 87-80 win over No. 18 Lindenwood-Belleville (Ill.) Saturday afternoon in the Tip-Off Classic hosted by Concordia (Calif.).
Blake Nash scored a game-high 26 and dished out seven assists,
Dayton Boddie registered 16 points and seven boards, and the Cougars held off a late charge from LUB (2-3) to preserve their second win of the competition over a ranked opponent.
CSUSM topped No. 22 Rocky Mountain on Friday night, 93-80.
LUB led by five four minutes in, but the Cougars went 7-of-11 from behind the arc to take a 15-point lead, 52-37, into the halftime break.
CSUSM cut down on its turnovers from the night before and took advantage of 17 LUB turnovers for 18 points.
Tyson Kygar and
Akachi Okugo also finished in double figures with 16 and 15 points, respectively. Kygar and Okugo contributed four assists apiece.
Nash and Kygar were equally lethal from down town, starting the game 3-of-4 from behind the arc before missing their only pair of attempts in the second frame.
Declan Daly pulled down 10 boards, five on the offensive end, and scored six points.
Craig Anderson led LUB with 23 points.
The Cougars travel to face Concordia (Calif.) in Irvine on Wednesday, November 19 at 7:30 p.m. CSUSM will then host No. 1 and defending national champion Vanguard in the CSUSM Homecoming Game on Saturday, Nov. 22 at MiraCosta College (7:30 p.m.).
