SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – Behind sophomore
Brooke Butler's career night of 20 kills and 26 digs, the No. 24 Cal State San Marcos volleyball team won a five-set thriller (19-25, 25-18, 25-22, 20-25, 17-15) at Westmont Tuesday. The victory was the Cougars first-ever in program history on the road against the Warriors.
CSUSM improves to 21-10 while the Warriors fall to 15-12 on the season.

Jordan Banich and freshman
Cheyenne Richards both reached double-digits in kills, registering 15 and 14 respectively. Senior
Alyssa Foster collected her 12th double-double of the season, dishing out 50 assists and tallying 17 digs.
The first set consisted of nine ties and four lead changes as Westmont hit .421 to take the win at 25-19.
The Cougars battled back by posting a match-high .424 attack percentage to win the second set 25-18 and even the match at one game apiece.
CSUSM took a 2-1 lead when Foster connected with freshman
Kristin Parker for a kill to win the third set 25-22.
With a 25-20 win, Westmont once again evened the match at two sets despite a late run by the Cougars.
It took three match points but CSUSM was able to register the victory after a block by the duo of sophomore
Morgan Willis and Foster.
Cougars are back home at Pacific Ridge School on Friday, Oct. 31, hosting West Coast Baptist at 7 p.m.
