Where We StartedThe Cougars are back to where they started the season, ranked No. 15 in the NAIA Women's Soccer Coaches' Top 25 Poll. CSUSM received 313 total points in the poll and moved up a spot from No. 16 the previous week. CSUSM has been ranked every week this season and has stayed within the No. 15-17 range.
Five StraightThe Cougars increased their winning streak to five matches with back-to-back shutout wins over Mills College and UC Santa Cruz on Oct. 4 and 5, respectively. In those five matches, CSUSM has outscored its opponents 17-1.
Amy Young recorded the Cougars' fifth hat trick in program history in the 9-0 win over Mills.
Marymount PreviewAll-time vs. Marymount: 2-2
Last time out: L, 0-1 (Oct. 13, 2013); Marymount played spoiler to a three-match win streak by CSUSM in 2013, as the Mariners took down the Cougars 1-0 at the StubHub Center in Carson. CSUSM outshot Marymount 10-5 during the game.
Marymount Breakdown: Marymount has been on the upswing in recent weeks, having won four of its last five matches. The Mariners most recently took down Embry-Riddle 2-0 on Oct. 7.
Bethesda PreviewAll-time vs. BUC: 3-0
Last time out: W, 2-0 (Oct. 8, 2013) CSUSM thoroughly dominated the last contest between the teams. The Cougars did not allow a shot or a corner kick in the contest.
