Cougars Drop No. 17 Rocky Mountain in Vegas

Box Score LAS VEGAS - De'End Parker scored 21 points and added five assists in the No. 12 Cal State San Marcos men's basketball team's 77-70 win over No. 17 Rocky Mountain on Saturday at Chuck Minker Sports Complex.

The Cougars improved to 2-0 on the young season while Rocky Mountain dropped to 3-2 overall.

All five starters finished in double figures for CSUSM. Jason Johnson dropped 15 points, Zack Zaragoza and Malcolm Lemmons pitched in 12, and Adam Eakles finished with 10. Eakles and Zaragoza led the team with six boards.

RMC outrebounded CSUSM 41-33 and 16-8 on the offensive end, but the Cougars were able to capitalize on 15 RMC turnovers while committing only nine.

The Cougars leave Vegas as winners in back-to-back games, including yesterday afternoon's 87-75 win over Warner Pacific. Warner Pacific is ranked No. 12 in NAIA Division II.

CSUSM turns around to face Biola on Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m. in La Mirada. The Cougars open their home schedule on Saturday, Nov. 16 at 7:30 p.m. against Daemen College in CSUSM's first-ever Homecoming Game.
