Box Score FULLERTON, Calif. – The No. 12 Cal State San Marcos men's basketball team hit a team-record 15 3-pointers on its way to a 106-42 victory over UC Merced on Saturday afternoon at the Hope Classic.
The 64-point win is the largest in team history. The previous record had been a 43-point victory over UC Santa Cruz (99-56) on Jan. 25, 2013. The Cougars also set a school record with 56 rebounds against UCM.

The Cougars improved their perfect record to 8-0. UC Merced dropped to 1-9 overall.
Tyree Murray led the Cougars with 18 points, hitting four 3-pointers to go along with five assists.
Caisan McNamara matched Murray's four 3-pointers and finished the game with a career-best 14 points.
Malcolm Lemmons and
De'End Parker added 16 points each while
Khalil Murphy pulled down a game-high 11 rebounds.
UCM scored the first two points of the game, but the Cougars responded with a 17-0 run that included five 3-pointers.
The Bobcats cut their deficit down to 11, but Murray responded with a 3-pointer, Lemmons hit another, and
Quincy Lawson slammed one home to give CSUSM a 27-6 lead with 10:18 remaining.
The Cougars took their first 30-point lead, 38-8, on
Zack Zaragoza's jumper at the 7:07 mark. CSUSM took a 37-point lead into half time.
Parker scored nine of the Cougars' first 10 points of the second half as CSUSM increased its lead to 47 at the 17:20 mark.
A tip-in by Lawson gave the Cougars a 50-point lead before McNamara's 3-pointer gave CSUSM a 61-point lead, 90-29, with 6:51 left. McNamara's fourth 3-pointer of the game gave the Cougars their biggest lead, 97-30, less than a minute later.
Lawson was a perfect 5-of-5 from the field and matched Murray with six rebounds.
The Cougars scored 30 points off 24 Bobcat turnovers and dished out 23 assists. They also blocked a season-high six shots. CSUSM's bench outscored UCM, 64-17.
CSUSM will hit the road twice next week. The Cougars will take on San Diego Christian on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. before taking on Hope International in Fullerton on Saturday at 5:00 p.m.
