Box Score CARSON, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos women's soccer team peppered the goal in the second half, but could not put one in the back of the net in a 1-0 loss to Marymount College on Sunday night at StubHub Center Field #5.
The Mariners (7-4) scored the game-winner against the run of play in the 75
th minute, capitalizing on a corner kick in their first threat of the final stanza.
The defeat snaps a three-match winning streak and drops the Cougars to 7-4-1 on the year.
"We played well and I'm happy with the way we played," said CSUSM head coach
Ron Pulvers. "We just didn't finish our chances. We had a couple of open looks that were great opportunities, and their goalie made a couple of huge saves."
Next up for CSUSM is a road test at Fresno Pacific on Oct. 23. The Cougars will then host their final home match of the season on Saturday, Oct. 26 at noon against the University of Antelope Valley.
