We're Going Streaking
The Cougars are riding their second five-game winning streak of the season after taking down Trinity Western, No. 5 Westmont, University of Alberta, UC Merced and Lethbridge over the holiday break. CSUSM has won eight of its last nine by an average of 22.25 points. The Cougars previously won five consecutive games Nov. 9-20; CSUSM has never won six in a row.
Historic Proportions
The Cougars ended 2012 in style, registering record-setting wins over UC Merced and Lethbridge at the New Year's Cougar Classic on Dec. 28 and 29, respectively. Against UCM, the Cougars put up a school-record 96 points in a 37-point victory, the largest in program history. However, the following night, CSUSM made a school-record 14 3-pointers on its way to a 40-point victory over Lethbridge (93-53).
CSUSM-Westmont Rehash
CSUSM used a 16-3 run late in the second half to put away No. 5 Westmont, 66-52, on Dec. 19 in the CSUSM Holiday Classic. The victory marked the first home win against a NAIA Top 10 team ever for the Cougars and was the third top-10 opponent CSUSM has beaten this season.

Since becoming eligible to play at the end of the fall semester, senior guard
AJ Gasporra has made quite the impact in his first three games as a Cougar. The transfer from Concordia (Calif.) has led the Cougars in scoring in each contest, setting a season-high with 28 against Lethbridge on Dec. 29. He debuted with 27 against the University of Alberta on Dec. 27 and tallied 17 against UCM on the 28
th. Thus far, Gasporra is averaging 24.0 points per game on 59-percent shooting.
