CSUSM Faculty/Staff Appreciation Day
The Department of Athletics would like to invite CSUSM faculty and staff to the men's and women's basketball teams' CSUSM Faculty/Staff Appreciation Nights on January 23 and 25. We know our faculty and staff work hard to make Cal State San Marcos the highly-touted institution it has grown to be. We'd like to show our gratitude by recognizing their hard work during the women's game against Point Loma Nazarene (Jan. 23) and the men's game against UC Santa Cruz (Jan. 25). Both events are free of charge for staff and their families. Faculty and staff will be able to participate in half time promotions and will be recognized during the contests.
State of the Team
CSUSM has won seven consecutive games dating back to Dec. 18. The Cougars have won 10 of their last 11, their only loss coming on Dec. 8, 2012 to defending national champion Concordia (Calif.). The Cougars jumped five spots in last week's NAIA Men's Basketball Division I Coaches' Poll from No. 15 to No. 10, marking the second time this season CSUSM has been ranked in the top 10 (No. 9, Dec. 4-10). The Cougars have been ranked in all four polls so far this season.
Pomona-Pitzer Recap
Bryan Emanuel scored a game-high 15 points,
Quincy Lawson added 14,

AJ Gasporra followed with 10 as CSUSM earned its seventh-straight win with a 74-54 victory over Pomona-Pitzer on Jan. 8. Emanuel went 4-of-5 from 3-point land and scored 12 consecutive points for CSUSM in a 12-4 run that handed the Cougars an insurmountable 65-41 lead with 5:14 left to play.
