REWIND
The Cougars had their three-game win streak snapped last week, as CSUSM tied Biola 3-3 before falling to No. 18 Concordia, 1-0, in overtime. In Tuesday's match against Biola, the Cougars led 2-0 and 3-1, but the Eagles came back with two goals in the second half to tie it. The last time the Cougars surrendered a two-goal lead in any game was on Oct. 19, 2007, when CSUSM led Cal State San Bernardino, 2-0 and 3-1. CSUSM and CSUSB eventually tied, 3-3. Biola became the first team to score three times on the Cougars since Azusa Pacific tallied three on Dec. 1, 2008. Shelby Bush, Sarah Hopper and Dani Porter accounted for the Cougar goals.

SANTA BARBARIANS IN TOWN
Tuesday's match between No. 12 CSUSM and No. 8 Westmont will be a rematch of last season's NAIA first round match-up between the Cougars and Warriors. Westmont forward Kaci Mexico ended CSUSM's season with a header off a corner kick in the 107th minute. The heartbreaking loss remains the only time the Cougars have fallen to the Warriors in team history (2-1-1). Since starting this season 0-1-1, Westmont has won four consecutive games by a combined score of 16-3.

ON GUARD!
16th-ranked Vanguard shot out to a 4-0 overall record to start the 2012 campaign, shutting out its first three opponents while outscoring opposing squads 16-1. The Lions lone loss came last week against No. 2 Lindsey Wilson (1-2). Jordan Davidson leads Vanguard with six goals in five games this season and Amanda Couch has three. The Cougars have never beaten the Lions (0-3-1)

NOTABLES
By the end of the week, the Cougars will have played three consecutive games against ranked teams … Bush, Hopper and Heather Flores also registered assists in the match against Biola … Goalkeeper Amanda Sears tallied a career high with six saves against Concordia … The Cougars' game against Vanguard will be the start of three consecutive road games; however, CSUSM will then play its final seven contests at home to wrap-up the regular season.
