You See L.A.?
The Cougars will head to Westwood to face 11-time national champion UCLA at Pauley Pavilion. The venue, which originally opened in 1965, went through a 33-month, $136 million renovation and is one of the nation's premier collegiate facilities. UCLA opened the preseason at No. 13 in the Associated Press Top 25, but recently fell out of the poll after losses to Georgetown and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. In the Bruins' most recent game at the Wooden Classic on Dec. 1, UCLA fell to No. 23 San Diego State 78-69. For ticket information, click here.

Cougars-Bruins
The CSUSM-UCLA game will be familiar territory for CSUSM head coach Jim Saia. Saia served as the head assistant coach on Steve Lavin's staff from 1997-2003 before leaving Westwood for USC. Under the leadership of Lavin and Saia, UCLA made five Sweet 16 appearances and a trip to the Elite Eight in in 1997.

Scouting UCLA
Jordan Adams paces the Bruins with 17.8 PGG, shooting a team-best 48.9 percent from the field. Shabazz Muhammed and Travis Wear are averaging 16.0 PPG and 11.6 PPG, respectively. UCLA, picked to finish second in the preseason Pac 12 Media Poll, opened its season with three consecutive wins before trading wins and losses over its last five.

The Other Two…
Remember, Tuesday's contest at UCLA is an exhibition for both teams. The Cougars will have more pressing matters on Wednesday and Saturday when NCAA Division II's Point Loma Nazarene and NAIA No. 1 Concordia (Calif.) enter MiraCosta College. CSUSM has never faced PLNU, but lost twice to Concordia last season. The Cougars fell to the top-ranked Eagles 92-88 on Dec. 6, 2011 and then again, 92-75, on Feb 23, 2012. Concordia is the defending NAIA national champion.
