Box Score OCEANSIDE, Calif. – The 15
th-ranked Cal State San Marcos men's basketball team made easy work of Trinity Western in the opening game of the CSUSM Holiday Classic Tuesday night at MiraCosta College, downing the Spartans by 23, 83-60.
Point guard
Danny Redmon went 10-of-15 for a career-high 26 points, adding five boards, three assists, four steals and a pair of highlight-reel dunks. It marked the second time in three games that Redmon set a personal-best for points; he tallied 24 in CSUSM's win over Point Loma Nazarene on Dec. 5.
Bryan Emanuel scored 12 points in his first game action since a hip injury sidelined him on Nov. 14.
Hakeem Washington added 13 on 4-of-8 shooting, and
Jose Rivera registered 11.
CSUSM (9-4) closed the opening half on a 13-2 run over the final 7:38 to take a 41-27 lead into the break. The lead stretched to 23 eight minutes into the second stanza and the Spartans were never able to get back within 16 the rest of the way.
CSUSM faces No. 5 Westmont College (8-1) tomorrow at 7:00 p.m. at MiraCosta College. TWU will face John Brown at 5:00 p.m.
