LAS VEGAS – Bryan Emanuel registered 19 points on 8-for-11 shooting as the No. 20 Cal State San Marcos men's basketball team upset No. 4 Robert Morris 91-75 on Friday night at the Tip-Off Classic hosted by Robert Morris and Concordia (Calif.).
The Cougars (1-1, 1-0) earned their first win of the year thanks to a solid day from three-point range.
Jose Rivera was 4-of-6 and the team finished 7-of-13 from behind the arc.
Rivera logged 15 points while
Quincy Lawson pitched in with 15 and seven rebounds.
Adam Eakles tallied 12 points and
Ali Langford helped out with 11 points and six boards.
Hakeem Washington made 6-of-7 free throws down the stretch, adding five assists in reserve for starting point guard

CSUSM's win is big considering Robert Morris is an Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) Division I squad, as well. The victory go far when the NAIA tournament committee sits down to hand out bids for the NAIA national tournament come March.
The Cougars have a history of beating RMU when the Eagles are ranked in the top five. CSUSM downed RMU when the Eagles were No. 2, 90-66, on Dec. 29, 2011.
