CSUSM Men's Basketball wins big over Arizona Christian

Box Score The Cal State San Marcos Men's Basketball Team avenged a December home loss in a big way Saturday night against Arizona Christian, shutting down the Firestorm 73-41 on their home floor.

Jacob Ranger had an excellent night from behind the arc, shooting 7 of 11 from deep, where he scored all of his 21 points. Daniel Redmon was second on the team in scoring with 18 points, and shot 3 of 3 from three. Redmon also added 4 assists and 6 steals for the Cougars. CSUSM guard Tim Steed was the third and final player in double digits for the Cougars with 12 points. Steed was effective as a passer tonight collecting 6 assists and contributing three steals as well.

Overall the Cougars forced 21 turnovers from Arizona Christian and shot 12 of 23 from three-point range, both of which were large factors in the lopsided win. CSUSM improves to 14-10 on the season after Saturday's victory, and the Cougars return home for a game against Fresno Pacific this Thursday at Mira Costa College. Cougars Coach Jim Saia coached Fresno Pacific prior to becoming the coach at Cal State San Marcos.
