The Cal State San Marcos offense exploded Monday night, putting up a program best 93 points in a blowout victory as the Cougars rolled to their 7th victory in their last 8 games.
CSUSM outscored the host Pioneers 57-30 in the first half, using strong defense to twist turnovers into points. The Cougars forced 24 turnovers from Pacific Union, and scored 29 points off of those possessions. Daniel Redmon led the way defensively with 6 steals, and
Alpha Ndiaye blocked 5 Pioneer shots.
Ndiaye also played a big role in CSUSM out-rebounding Pacific Union 42 to 28, as he tallied a game-high13 boards. AJ Chamberlain led the Cougars offensively with 24 points, going 9 of 14 from the field. Daniel Redmon kicked in 19 points, a season-high for him, and
Jacob Ranger added 14 points and 7 rebounds.
The #24 ranked Cougars are now 12-8 on the season. They will get a chance to knock off NCAA Division 1 opponent Fresno State on the road Wednesday, January 18
