CSUSM Goalkeeper Kaycee Gunion named NSCAA Scholar-Athlete All-American

Competitive award is given based on combination of athletic and academic success.

CSUSM Goalkeeper Kaycee Gunion has shined both on the soccer field and in the classroom in her time at San Marcos, and for that she was recognized by the NSCAA to the Women's College Scholar All-America Third Team.

The captain of this year's #11 ranked women's soccer team, Gunion has compiled a 3.53 GPA in her academic career, and was an NAIA First Team All-American in 2011. She finished her final collegiate season with a 0.32 goals against average, ranking her second in the nation. She allowed just 6 goals in the team's 20 games, playing a major role in the team's program-best record of 15-4-1.

Gunion was only 1 of 2 Californian's to be named to the NSCAA team in the College Division. The entire list of winners can be found here.
