SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. – An early first-half goal was the difference as the Cal State San Marcos women's soccer team (6-4-4, 3-3-2 CCAA) fell 1-0 at Cal State San Bernardino (7-5-3, 5-2-1 CCAA) on Sunday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After a long CSUSB pass into the box from the right side by Jackeline Fuentes, Emilee Perez got possession just in front of the CSUSM keeper at the six-yard box and went to the left with the ball before putting a shot into an open net to give the Coyotes a 1-0 lead in the 11th minute.
- Both teams took four shots each in the first half, but the Cougars had the edge in shots on goal at 3-2.
- CSUSM was held to six shots in the second half while CSUSB took 12.

- The Coyotes held the advantage in shots (16-10) and corner kicks (5-4) while both teams took five shots each.
- Four Cougars ended the game with two shots each, while Kayla Knoob's two shots on goal were a team high.
- This was CSUSB's first win against CSUSM since a 1-0 win in San Bernardino in 2022.
- The Cougars are now 6-2-3 in the all-time series against the Coyotes.
