Box Score Brianne Searl's first collegiate goal proved to be the game winner on Friday, as #7-ranked Cal State San Marcos women's soccer got back on track with a 2-0 conference road win over Soka University.
CSUSM improves to 12-2-1 on the year. Soka drops to 4-6.
Coming off a stunning loss at William Jessup on Monday, Coach
Ron Pulvers' Cougars got right back on track on Friday. CSUSM controlled the match and limited Soka's opportunities, with the back line and midfield delivering a stout performance for all 90 minutes.
For Coach Pulvers, it was a return to form for his squad, as they prepare for the post-season.
"The team played great from back to front," noted Pulvers. "It was a great response from Monday."
Searl opened the scoring Friday with an assist from
Erin Mulrooney.
Kelly Skvarna would add an unassisted goal, as the Cougars made a 2-0 first half lead stand up to pick up the result.
CSUSM will be in action on Sunday at Marymount-Palos Verdes.
